How to make a QR Code for an event schedule or calendar invite
Either link the code to an event page you can update, or make a calendar code that carries the date, time, and place so scanning adds the event to the phone. Check the details before printing and test on iPhone and Android.
Two ways to do it
- Link to an event page. The code opens a page with the schedule, location, and a button to add it to a calendar. Easy to keep current, because you edit the page, not the code.
- Calendar event code. The code carries the event details (title, date, time, place) so scanning offers to add it to the phone's calendar. The details are fixed once printed.
Make it with StyloQR
- Install the StyloQR Chrome extension.
- Open the event template and fill in the details, or use the link option.
- Style the code with your event colors and logo.
- Export as PNG, 4K PNG, SVG, or PDF.
Tips
- Double-check date, time, and time zone before printing: a static code cannot be fixed afterwards.
- Print it large enough for the distance. See QR Code size for print.
- If many attendees get a unique link (badges, seats), make them as a batch: bulk QR Code generator.
- Put a line beside it, like "Scan to add to your calendar".
Test it
- Scan with an iPhone and an Android phone.
- Confirm the event is added with the correct date and time.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between a link and a calendar QR Code?
A link opens a web page you can update. A calendar code stores the event details itself, so it adds the event directly but cannot be edited after printing.
Will it work on every phone?
Support varies by phone and app, so test on both iPhone and Android before printing.
