Privacy Policy

⚠️ This is a starting template, written based on how you described StyloQR's functionality. It does not replace a legal review. Before publishing, review every section — especially the payments section — and adjust it to match your product exactly, ideally with a lawyer's help.

1. What StyloQR does

StyloQR is a browser extension that lets you create and read custom QR Codes. The extension runs locally in your browser.

2. What data we collect

The content you enter to generate QR Codes (links, text, Wi-Fi passwords, contact cards, logo images, etc.), your generation history, and your style preferences are processed and stored locally, on your own device. We do not send this content to our servers or to third parties.

We do not collect usage analytics, we do not use tracking cookies, and we do not display ads within the extension.

3. Payments (Pro Plan)

To process the one-time payment for the Pro Plan, we use the third-party service ExtensionPay, which in turn processes payment through Stripe. When you upgrade, the information needed for payment (such as card details) is entered directly on Stripe/ExtensionPay's secure page — StyloQR does not have access to or store this data.

ExtensionPay stores the information that you are a paying user, so the extension can verify your status and unlock Pro Plan features.

Learn more about how these services handle data in their own policies: extensionpay.com and stripe.com/privacy.

4. Extension permissions

[List each permission from your manifest.json here, in plain terms, and why it's needed — e.g., active tab access to generate a QR from the current link; context menu for the right-click feature; camera access for the QR reader.]

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.

6. Your rights

Since all content is processed locally, you have full control over your data — you can delete it at any time by clearing your history within the extension, or by uninstalling the extension.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. We'll notify you of significant changes through the extension itself or on this page.
